Lady Rider Annual Trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show

It is our annual trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show. The theme this year is Holland. We welcome everyone to join us at this great event. Bridges, windmills, canals and water gardens in a sea of 30,000 flowers -- with 6,000 more blooms suspended in a giant floral canopy -- will welcome guests to the 2017 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, “Holland: Flowering the World.” Guests will pass under a brick bridge inspired by the Amsterdam cityscape and adorned with Delft tile patterns, overflowing flower boxes and hanging baskets. The surrounding garden will be planted with cherry trees, sycamores, and drifts of floral color ranging from hot orange to soft pinks, reds, blues and purple accents. Mixed in with thousands of tulips will be hundreds of fritillaria, narcissus, anemones and other blooms.
There will be many demonstrations and lectures as well as various displays throughout the exhibit hall. Fine Wine & Good Spirits brings an outstanding tasting experience to the Philadelphia Flower Show year after year. For the 2017 Show, there will be over 30 tables with 126 wines and spirits available for free sampling from 2-7 pm.
Tickets are $28.00 Adult Children $15.00 online, with advance ticket discounts -
We’ll be meeting at the Patco-Woodcrest Train Station (Exit 31 off 295 South). There is free parking at the train station, with the round trip ticket costing approximately $6, and taking about 20 minutes. We plan to meet up with everyone by 7:45 AM there, catching either the 7:55 or 8:21 train into Philly.
Once we arrive, due to typical crowds and with so much to see, we explore the venue at our own pace and pick a time to meet for lunch at the Marriott. There are other food options, Hard Rock Cafe, kiskoks inside the Convention Center, and the Reading Terminal.
Most of us will finish our shopping and meet to return back to NJ around 4:30, however, it's up to you if you'd like to leave at a different time.
